Strawberries ( Fragaria spp. )
Strawberries are herbaceous perennials that produce delicious red (or occasionally white) berries.
They make useful ground covers in full-sun areas and can be interplanted between or in front
of larger shrubs and plants. Most strawberries grow between 6 to 12 inches tall and wide. Alpine
strawberries stay in neat mounds but other strawberries can spread through running stems.
This strawberry jar is an easy way to grow strawberries even with little room. It will produce fruit the first
year if you start with strawberry crowns.
