Getting There & Away
The table shows how to get from major destinations and regional hubs from Bangkok; for
other destinations, refer to the appropriate chapter. If you're in Bangkok and bound for
Cambodia or Laos, it's possible to circumvent air travel altogether. Government buses run
direct routes to Cambodia and southern Laos; the route to Siem Reap, via the crossing at
Aranya Prathet, is a convenient way to pass this formerly hassle-laden border.
