Relocated to the main strip, this place is popular with
the few travellers who stay in Udomxai. The walls are decorated with arabesques and
there's an imaginative menu, from salads through pumpkin soup, curry, fish and stir-fries.

Sinouk Coffee of Bolaven Plateau fame has
ventured north with this stylish restaurant, cafe and bar. The coffee selection is unsurpris-
ingly the best in town. Meals include a wide range of Lao and international dishes, includ-
ing some whole fish to share. Lunch (15,000K) and dinner (20,000K) specials are one-
plate value. The garden courtyard features live music at weekends.

sometimes opens on weekends, but the hours are irregular.

The bus station at the southwestern edge of town has buses to Luang Prabang (all VIP
buses, 55,000K, five hours, 9am, noon and 3pm daily), Nong Khiaw (45,000K, four
hours, 9am daily), Pak Beng (40,000K, five hours, 8.30am and 10am daily), Pak Mong
(30,000K, 2pm and 4pm daily), Luang Namtha (40,000K, three hours, 8.30am, 11.30am
and 3.30pm daily), Muang Khua (35,000K, four hours, 8.30am, 11.30am and 3pm daily),
Boten (40,000K, four hours, 8am daily), Phongsali (75,000K, eight to 12 hours, 8.30am
daily) and Vientiane (ordinary bus 150,000K, 16 hours, 11am; VIP bus 140,000K, 18
hours, 4pm and 6pm daily).
There are also bus connections to Mengla (China).
