There are a couple of
mint-green Lao Youth Inns on Th François Ngin, the best one being at the top of the street
nearest Th Setthathirath. Rooms are boxy with en suites and polished tiled floors. Useful
amenities include ticketing services, bike (10,000K) and scooter (60,000K) rental.

Like a slice of home, this quirky old
Lao house is as friendly as it is appealing, and is undergoing a steady make-over under
new management. There's a great new tapas restaurant, while rooms have wood floors,
bed runners, TVs and fridges. Rooms 1 and 2 are our favourites. There are plenty of nooks
to chill in, too.

This lovely French-era building has been stylishly reincarnated as a homey boutique
hotel, with belle epoque touches such as glass tear lightshades, chess-tiled floors, and ex-
quisitely simple rooms, softly lit with wood floors and Indo-chic decor. Rooms on the 3rd
and 4th floors have masterful views.

On a quiet street,
this tasteful hotel is great value given its chandeliered lobby festooned in handicraft and
hardwood floors, plus a bijou cafe. Generously sized rooms are impeccably clean with

rooms have excellent city views.
