cus troupe opened a big top in Siem Reap in 2013 and the results have been spectacular.
Besides stunningly daring and original acts, Phare's shows carry a subtle yet striking so-
cial message. Not to be missed.
La Noria Restaurant

Wednesday-evening shadow-puppet show with classical dance at La Noria. Part of the fee
is donated to a charity supporting local children.

Siem Reap has an excellent selection of Cambodian-made handicrafts. Psar Chaa MAP
GOOGLE MAP (Old Market) is well stocked. There are bargains to be had if you haggle pa-
tiently and humorously. Angkor Night Market MAP GOOGLE MAP ( www.angkornightmarket.com ;
4pm-midnight) is packed with silks, handicrafts and souvenirs. Up-and-coming Alley West
is also a great strip to browse socially responsible fashion boutiques.
Several shops support Cambodia's dis-abled and disenfranchised, including exquisite
Artisans d'Angkor ( Click here ) .
Monument Books
(Pokambor Ave; 9am-9pm) Well-stocked new bookstore near Psar Chaa, with an additional
branch at the airport.
