Rach Gia
077 / POP 206,000
Rach Gia is something of a boom town, flush with funds from its thriving port and an in-
jection of Viet Kieu (overseas Vietnamese) money. The population here includes signific-
ant numbers of ethnic Chinese and ethnic Khmers. Most travellers give the busy centre
short shrift, heading straight to Phu Quoc Island. Those who do linger can explore the
lively waterfront and bustling backstreets, where there are some inexpensive seafood res-
taurants to be found.
