An Suongbus station Buses to Tay Ninh and points northeast of HCMC; located in Dis-
trict 12, west of the centre. Buses to/from Cu Chi leave from here, but tours are far more
convenient.
Mien Dongbus station Buses heading north of HCMC; located about 5km from down-
town on Hwy 13. Express buses depart from the east side of the station, and local buses
connect with the west side of the complex.
Mien Tay bus station Serves all the main Mekong Delta towns; located about 10km
southwest of Saigon in An Lac.
Open-tour buses depart and arrive in the Pham Ngu Lao area. Destinations include Mui
Ne (US$5 to US$10), Nha Trang (US$7 to US$20), Dalat (US$8 to US$15), Hoi An
(US$15 to US$37) and Hanoi (US$25 to US$49).
There are plenty of international bus services connecting HCMC and Cambodia, most
with departures from the Pham Ngu Lao area. Sapaco ( 08-3920 3623; www.sapacotourist.vn ;
309 Pham Ngu Lao) has nine direct daily services to Phnom Penh (230,000d, six hours, de-
parting between 6am and 3pm), as well as one to Siem Reap (430,000d, 12 hours, 6am).
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Hotels and travellers' cafes can arrange car rentals (from US$40 per day). Pham Ngu Lao
is the neighbourhood to look for motorbike rentals (US$5 to US$10 per day).
TRAIN
In Pham Ngu Lao, purchase tickets from Hoa Xa Agency ( 08-3836 7640; 275C Ð Pham Ngu
Lao; 7.30am-6pm) or from most travel agents for a small fee. Trains from Saigon train sta-
tion (Ga Sai Gon;
