Tickets can also be purchased at numerous newsagents, corner stores and supermarkets
throughout the city.
If you'll be catching buses a lot (but not trains or ferries), consider a prepaid 10-ride
TravelTen ticket (sections 1-2/3-5/6+ $17/28/36).
Free City Shuttle
Bus 555 is a free CBD shuttle bus, looping between Central station, George St, Circular
Quay and Elizabeth St every 10 minutes from 9.30am to 3.30pm on weekdays (until 9pm
Thursdays), and between 9.30am and 6pm on weekends.
Light Rail
Metro Light Rail (MLR; www.metrolightrail.com.au ; zone 1 adult/concession $3.40/2.20, zone 1 & 2 adult/
concession $4.40/3.40, day pass adult $9; 24hr, every 10-15min 6am-midnight, every 30min midnight-6am)
heads from Central to Lilyfield (via Chinatown, Darling Harbour, Pyrmont and Glebe)
every 10 to 15 minutes from 6am to 11pm. There's a 24-hour service from Central to the
Star, with late-night trains every 30 minutes.
INTEGRATED PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES
All of the state's public and many of its private services are gathered together under the umbrella of the NSW
Transport Infoline ( 13 15 00; www.131500.com.au ). The website has an excellent journey planner, where
you can plug in your requirements and then let the system spit out a range of options. MyMulti passes allow un-
limited travel on trains (except the airport stations), light rail, buses and government ferry services. Options in-
clude the following :
» MyMulti DayPass ($21) Covers the entire system.
» MyMulti1 (per week/month $43/164) Includes all buses, light rail and ferries but only Zone 1 trains. Note,
you can get to Parramatta and Olympic Park on this pass by ferry but not by train. This pass is the best option
for most travellers.
» MyMulti2 (per week/month $51/194) As above, but includes trains to places like Olympic Park and Parra-
matta.
