The racing season for 18ft skiff yachts runs from September to April, with a whole messy
wake of races across the harbour. South Head offers a good vantage point or head out on a
Sydney Flying Squadron ( www.sydneyflyingsquadron.com.au ) viewing boat. On Boxing Day (26
December), Sydney Harbour hosts the start of the harrowing Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race
( www.rolexsydneyhobart.com ).
