In-Depth Information
like a Victorian matron, the only word to describe this 1880 cottage on a quiet street is
'delightful'. Two rooms are available, but single-group bookings are the name of the game
(from one to four people) - meaning you'll have free reign of the antique-strewn accom-
modation, including a private lounge with an open fire.
WINDERMERE$$
room at 101 Addison Road, this pleasant place nearby offers a very similar setup (two
bedrooms, but only one booking accepted at a time). While it doesn't have quite the same
sumptuous historic charm, it's still an extremely good proposition.

the outback, and if it was, this salmon-pink stucco house with a little windmill on its lawn
would scarcely blend in. Even on a quiet Manly backstreet it's conspicuous, not least for
the excellent value for money of its tidy, unassuming rooms. Each has an ensuite bath-
room and either a kitchenette or full kitchen.

This lavishly restored Victorian manor faces the sunset across
Manly Cove. Twelve en suite rooms are elegant and well appointed, and there's a cosy kit-
chen. If your wallet can stand the heat, avoid the ground-floor rooms facing the courtyard,
which can get a bit stuffy. Rates include breakfast.

NOVOTEL SYDNEY MANLY PACIFIC$$$
on Manly's ocean beach, this midriser has a dated corporate vibe but is a million miles
from the city's business hustle. Check the surf from ocean-front balconies, or hit the
rooftop pool if you don't want sand in your laptop. Courtyard-view rooms aren't nearly as
good as the ocean-view versions.
