There's no accommodation positioned closer to the heart of the action
than this hostel directly above Kings Cross station. Ordinarily that wouldn't be a good
thing, but Jackaroo passes muster as the least trashy place on Sydney's most trashy strip.
Try to nab a rear-facing room but pack earplugs regardless. The vibe is bright, bustling
and (extremely) youthful.

HOSTEL
(

Kings Cross)
Revolving around an attractive central courtyard with a slick indoor/outdoor
kitchen, this newly renovated hostel has shed some of its laidback Bohemian vibe in fa-
vour of designer touches and splashes of bright orange paint. All rooms have TVs and
fridges; the pricier ones have en suites. Free internet and breakfast.
EVA'S BACKPACKERS$
perennial backpacker favourite, probably because it's far enough from the Kings Cross
fray to maintain some composure and dignity. Free breakfast and wi-fi, plus an ace
rooftop barbecue area and a sociable kitchen-dining room. Clean and secure.
