Cross) With one of Darlinghurst's favourite drinking dens downstairs (the Darlo Bar), these
eight nifty cheapies are an appealing proposition. The bathrooms are shared, the rooms are
small and the beds are a bit saggy, but they're smartly painted and come with TVs. Not for
light sleepers.

Cleveland St, this hostel is well located for unfussy travellers keen to explore the increas-
ingly hip Surry Hills/Redfern/Chippendale fringe. It's a little down-at-heel, but extras in-

Once you could stay here for the night and boast that you slept next to Russell Crowe (he
used to live in one of the apartments at the end of the wharf). Even so, you're sure to en-
joy the boutique sensibilities and excellent location of this hotel carved out of the historic
Woolloomooloo finger wharf.
