Coffee is undoubtedly the main event at this cool little charcoal- coloured roaster, but it's
also a great place for a quick baguette, a lamb salad or a wedge of cake. And the caffeine?
Strong, perfectly brewed and usually fair trade.

KINGS CROSS CONFIDENTIAL
Mandy Sayer, author of several books set in Kings Cross, on 'the only place in Australia that never sleeps'.
The Soho of Sydney
Every great city has a racy, raffish, artistic village: Paris has Montmartre, New York has The Village, London
has Soho, and Sydney has Kings Cross. As an aspiring writer growing up in the area, I discovered my first and
most enduring muse: the pulsing vivid neon signs; the buskers and prostitutes; the strip clubs; the many artists,
actors and musicians who shared crumbling terrace houses. It also had a history of crime and corruption, dating
back to the razor gangs that roamed the back lanes in the early 20th century.
