Kings Cross) The Darlo's triangular retro room is a magnet for thirsty urban bohemians,
fluoro-clad ditch diggers and architects with a book or a hankering for pinball or pool.
Pool comp on Tuesday night; trivia on Wednesday. It's quiet during the day, but fires up
with DJs on Friday and Saturday nights.

very hip indeed. On weekends it gets packed - and incredibly noisy - with stylish Eastern
Suburbs 20-somethings. There's a cool terrace upstairs and the Velvet cocktail lounge in
the basement. It's pronounced Beech -um.

floor nightclub but it's the top-floor cocktail bar that's really worth checking out.
Sydney's most over-the-top space is best described as Alice in Wonderland drops acid
with Liberace in the Palace of Versailles: shiny teal surfaces, rococo couches, mirrors and
large portraits of duck- headed royals.

coming here, but the lengthy queues prove them liars. In this underground dance bar, the
heyday of Stock Aitken Waterman never ended. It may be uncool, but if you don't scream
when Kylie hits the turntables you'll be the only one.
