go. If you're afraid of heights, the scariest part is crossing over the grates while under the
bridge; on the curved span itself the track is wide enough that you never see straight
down.
Tours last 2¼ to 3½ hours - a preclimb toilet stop is a smart idea. The priciest climbs
are at dawn and sunset .
Pylon Lookout
The bridge's hefty pylons may look as though they're shouldering all the weight, but
they're largely decorative - right down to their granite facing. There are awesome views
from the top of the Pylon Lookout OFFLINE MAP GOOGLE MAP ( 9240 1100;
www.pylonlookout.com.au ; adult/child $11/6.50; 10am-5pm) , atop the southeast pylon, 200 steps
above the bridge's footpath. Inside the pylon there are exhibits explaining how the bridge
was built.
