loop/
In this chapter, much was covered about
the versatility of a small, simple electronic
component called a telecoil. A  telecoil
can double the functionality of hear-
ing aids, and it is a cost-effective way to
improve signal-to-noise ratio for both
speech understanding and music enjoy-
ment. Induction systems improve the
quality of life for individuals with hear-
ing loss in the home, workplace, and
both private and public venues without
the trouble of managing and maintain-
ing other external devices. Consumers
should consider taking greater advantage
of telecoils and induction technology, and
advocating for induction technology use
in their communities. Hearing profes-
sionals can do their part by introducing
this technology, increasing awareness,
and becoming an advocate for the clients
they serve.
