This well-designed, open-plan museum fea-
tures a diorama of the city's former glories, replica vessels and an exhibition on how tradi-
tional villagers used to survive.
Chantharakasem National

Inside this national museum is a collection of
Buddhist art, sculptures, ancient weapons and lacquered cabinets. The museum is within
the grounds of Wang Chan Kasem (Chan Kasem Palace), which was built for King Nare-
suan by his father in 1577.

Chances are your fa-
vourite childhood toy is enjoying retirement here among the tin soldiers, dolls and Godzil-
las, all lovingly displayed in this two-storey museum by associate professor Krirk Yoon-
pun. It isn't just toys; the collection of Buddhist amulets and old Thai currency is of in-
terest.
