Customs Regulations
Duty-free sales within the EU no longer exist, but goods are sold free of value-added tax (VAT) in European airports. Vis-
itors coming into Italy from non-EU countries can import duty-free: 1L of spirits (or 4L of wine), 200 cigarettes and any
other goods up to a total of €430 for air and sea travellers (€300 for all other travellers). Anything over this limit must be
declared on arrival and the appropriate duty paid.

Discount Cards & Passes
An International Student Identity Card (ISIC; www.isic.org ) can get you discounted admission prices at some sights
(such as the Scuola Grande di San Rocco) and help with cheap flights out of Italy, but ISIC benefits are limited in Venice.
