Giudecca, Lido & the Southern Islands
Take a breather from the palatial grandeur of Venice at seaside art nouveau villas on the
Lido or bargain lodging on Giudecca. If you want to stay on the Lido during the Venice
International Film Festival in September, plan to make reservations months in advance
and pay premium rates.

After a swish new refurbishment by Generator Venice in 2012, Giu-
decca's hostel rocks a sharp, contemporary interior including a fabulous new bar-restaur-
ant. To claim that perfect bunk by the window, you'll need to arrive promptly at the
3.30pm opening. Sheets, blanket and a pillow are provided in the bunk price; the buffet
breakfast is an extra €3.50.
