A colourful character inhabiting a quiet side street in Dorsoduro's museum district,
Ca' del Brocchi has small yet over-the-top baroque-styled rooms - tasselled, gilt to the
hilt and upholstery padded, with matching scrollwork wall- paper. Lower-level rooms
have porthole-sized windows; better options have garden views, balconies and/or Jacuzzi
tubs. Breakfasts are packaged, but guestroom mini-bars are handy. Babysitting and cradles

Take a break from baroque in this serene, simple retreat overlooking Ca'
Rezzonico's formal garden. Three snug guestrooms are upstairs (no lift) and ship-shape,
