Albergo Verdi is a breath of fresh air in Padua's conservative hotel scene. Upper rooms benefit from lovely views
over Piazza del Capitaniato and the breakfast buffet groans with fresh fruit, pastries, cold meats, eggs and cheese.
Staff are happy to get refreshments if you arrive out of hours and will sort out historic-centre permits for rental
cars.

decent dorm rooms with four to six beds. Sheets and wi-fi are free, but there is no open kitchen. Note there is an
11.30pm curfew, except when there are special events, and you must check out by 9.30am. Take bus 3, 8 or 12 or
the city's new tram from the train station.
) With its central location, super-efficient staff and mod decor the Belludi is the hotel of choice for many
regular travellers to Padua. Although the black-on-brown rooms could do with a little freshening up, the
generous-sized beds, free minibar and ample buffet breakfast more than compensate. Staff are always on hand
with budget-friendly shopping advice and suggestions for biking itineraries and walking tours.

the Palazzo della Ragione. Locals crowd in for

Severino obliges by hosting a convivial drinking session every evening amid the barrels
