menu here is like asking for one at your grandma's house. You'll have one of the three
daily specials and like it - really - and by the time lunch is over you'll feel as though you
should offer to help tidy up. For €12 you can expect a generous plate of pasta, a savoury
meat or fish dish, a contorno (veggie side dish), and a view of Venice - if you get the one
window seat. Note that the bar is open for cicheti all day, but meals are only available at
lunchtime Monday to Friday.

restaurants: are you sure that's not Pugliese chef Luigi's velvety pasta and soup talking? A
creamy fava-bean mash with biting chicory and fresh tomatoes coats the tongue in a
naughty way, and the mixed grill for two with langoustine, sole and fresh sardines is quite a
catch.

here for authentically Venetian seafood, including generous plates of briny clam pasta and
genuine Genovese pesto. The chef, who hails from Liguria, also recommends zuppa di
pesce (soup thick with seafood) and ravioli stuffed with shrimp. Boat-yard workers fill the
place with raucous chatter at lunchtime, while evenings are a more sedate affair.
