century bumps into the 21st on this hidden corner showcase of rare Murano glass, ranging
from spun-gold chandeliers beloved of royal decorators to sultry smoked-glass sconces
that serve Hollywood stars better than Botox. Contemporary art glass lines the back
shelves, including blown-glass vases with graffiti-graphic squiggles.

Handmade industrial chic isn't what you'd expect to find across the
footbridge from baroque Ca' Rezzonico, but Ninfa Salerno's clients delight in the unex-
pected. The Venetian artisan gives staid pearl strands a sense of humour with bouncy
black rubber, weaves fuschia rubber discs into glowing UFO necklaces, and embeds Mur-
ano glass beads in rubber daisy cocktail rings.
