If Bologna is a city of two halves, then Modo Infoshop is definitely in the 'red' stu-
dent half. An indie bookshop with an affiliated cafe-bar next door, this is where postgrads
sit down to write up their theses in a room decorated with
antifascismo
banners and en-
livened with David Bowie on repeat.
There's cheap beer, good wine, modest appies and tempting chocolate brownies to en-
joy. Conversations start getting interesting around 8pm.

Bentivoglio is a jack of all trades. Part wine bar (choose from over 500 labels), part res-
taurant (the daily

menu costs €28) and part jazz club (there's live music nightly),
this much-loved institution oozes cosy charm with its ancient brick floors, arched ceilings
and shelves full of wine bottles.
