From mid-June to late September motor-boat services run to and from Grado, Lignano
and points along the Istrian coast in Slovenia and Croatia; check with the tourist office for
the current operator.

80) sells tickets for the twice-weekly car ferry to and from Durres in Albania.
BUS
National and international services operate from the bus station ( 040 42 50 20;
www.autostazionetrieste.it ; Via Fabio Severo 24) . These include services to destinations in Slove-
nia and Croatia, including Zagreb (€22.50, five hours, daily Tuesday to Saturday) and
Dubrovnik (€79, 15 hours, twice weekly).
APT (Azienda Provinciale Trasporti Gorizia; 800 955957; www.aptgorizia.it ) Bus 51 runs to the
airport approximately every 30 minutes between 4.30am and 10.35pm from Trieste bus
station (€4, one hour).
Florentia Bus ( 040 42 50 20; www.florentiabus.it ) Operates bus services to Ljubljana (€14.50,
2¾ hours, daily), Belgrade (€55, 10 hours, two days a week), and Sofia in Bulgaria (€55,
16½ hours, daily).
TRAIN
Train station (Piazza della Libertà 8) Serves Gorizia (€3.80, 50 minutes, hourly), Udine (€6.70,
one to 1½ hours, at least hourly), Venice (€9.20 to €13.50, two hours, at least hourly) and
Rome (€70, 6½ to 7½ hours; most require a change at Mestre).
Getting Around
BOAT
Trieste Trasporti ( 800 016675; www.triestetrasporti.it ) Shuttle boats depart from the stazione
marittima to Muggia year-round (one way/return €4/7, 30 minutes, six to 10 times daily).
