Getting There & Around
AIR
Verona-Villafranca airport ( www.aeroportoverona.it ) is 12km outside town and accessible
by ATV Aerobus to/from the train station (€6, 15 minutes, every 20 minutes 6.30am to
11.30pm). A taxi costs €30. Flights arrive from all over Italy and some European cities,
including Amsterdam, Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Dusseldorf, London and Paris.
BUS
The main intercity bus station is in front of the train station in the Porta Nuova area. Buses
run to Padua, Vicenza and Venice.
Azienda Trasporti Verona (AVT; 045 805 79 22; www.atv.verona.it ) city buses 11, 12, 13 and
14 (bus 91 or 92 on Sunday and holidays) connect the train station with Piazza Brà. Buy
tickets from newsagents and tobacconists before you board the bus (tickets valid for one
hour, €1.50).
TRAIN
There are at least three trains hourly to Venice (€7.50 to €23, 1¼ to 2½ hours), Padua (€6
to €18, 40 to 90 minutes) and Vicenza (€4.70 to €16, 30 minutes to one hour). There are
also regular services to Milan (€11.50 to €21.50, 1½ to two hours) and Florence (€24 to
€57, 1½ to three hours) and points south, as well as direct international services to Austria
and Germany.
