ducal splendour in Antonella and Massimo's fabulous
palazzo.
Grand rooms are furnished

Eating
Mantua's most famous dish is melt-in-your-mouth
tortelli di zucca
(pumpkin-stuffed
cushions of pasta). Pork also features heavily on the menu; look out for
salumi
(salt port),
prosciutto crudo
(salt-cured ham) and
risotto alla pilota
(risotto with minced pork). Many
dishes are accompanied by a sweet mustard,
mostarda di mele
or
mantovana
(made with
apples or pears).
