Getting There & Around
AIR
Verona-Villafranca Airport ( 045 809 56 66; www.aeroportoverona.it ) Verona's airport is most
convenient for the lake. Regular trains connect Verona with Peschiera del Garda (€2.85,
15 minutes) and Desenzano del Garda (€3.80, 25 minutes).
BOAT
Navigazione Lago di Garda ( 800 551801; www.navigazionelaghi.it ; Piazza Matteotti 2, Desenzano
del Garda) Operates ferries year-round. A one-day ticket allowing unlimited travel in the
Alto Garda (Upper Garda) costs €24.30/17.60 per adult/child, while the Basso Garda
(Lower Garda) ticket costs €27.40/16.40 per adult/child.
Motorists can cross the lake using the car ferry between Toscolano-Maderno and Torri
del Benaco, or seasonally between Limone and Malcesine. A car costs €10.70 one way.
BUS
APTV ( 045 805 78 11; www.aptv.it ) Connects Desenzano del Garda train station with Riva
del Garda (€4.70, two hours, up to six daily). Peschiera del Garda train station is on the
Riva del Garda-Malcesine-Garda-Verona APTV bus route, with hourly buses to both
Riva (€4.10, one hour 40 minutes) and Verona (€3.20, 30 minutes).
Trasporti Brescia ( 030 440 61; www.trasportibrescia.it ; Via Cassale 3/a, Brescia) Operates services
from Brescia up the western side of the lake to Riva del Garda.
Trentino Trasporti ( 0461 821 000; www.ttesercizio.it ) Connects Riva del Garda with Arco (20
minutes) and Trento (€4.20, 1¾ hours).
