Sadem ( www.sadem.it ) runs buses to the airport from Stazione Porta Nuova (40 minutes),
also stopping at Stazione Porta Susa (30 minutes). Buses depart every 30 minutes between
5.15am and 10.30pm (6.30am and 11.30pm from the airport). Single tickets cost €5 from
Confetteria Avvignano (Piazza Carlo Felice 50) , opposite where the bus stops, or €5.50 if
bought on the bus.
A taxi between the airport and the city centre will cost around €35 to €40.
CAR & MOTORCYCLE
Major car-rental agencies have offices at Stazione Porta Nuova and the airport.
TURIN BIKE-SHARING
Turin's ever-expanding bike-sharing scheme, [To]Bike ( www.tobike.it ) , was inaugurated in 2010 and
is now one of the largest in Italy, with over 18,000 subscribers and 116 stations storing bright-yellow
biciclette . Temporary usage can be procured for €8 a week or €5 a day, after which the first 30
minutes are free. You'll then pay 80c, €1 and €2 for subsequent 30-minute sessions. To buy an access
card, drop by Via Santa Chiara 26F or register online.
PUBLIC TRANSPORT
The city boasts a dense network of buses, trams and a cable car run by the Gruppo Torin-
ese Trasporti ( Click here ), which has an information office ( 7am-9pm) at Stazione Porta
Nuova. Buses and trams run from 6am to midnight and tickets cost €1 (€13.50 for a
15-ticket carnet and €3.50 for a one-day pass).
Turin's single-line metro ( www.metrotorino.it ) runs from Fermi to Lingotto. It first opened
for the Winter Olympics in February 2006. It was extended to Stazione Porta Nuova in
October 2007 and Lingotto in March 2011. The line is currently being extended south to
Piazza Bengazi, two stations south of Lingotto. Tickets cost €1.50.
