In-Depth Information
serving filling portions of old-school country cooking. It's a relaxed place with a welcom-
ing vibe, garish murals on the walls (strangely, often a good sign) and tasty, value-for-
money food. The fried dishes are especially good and there's fresh fish on Tuesdays and
Fridays.

( 06 686 77 57; Via del Leoncino 28; pizzas from €6; closed Wed & lunch Sat & Sun; Via del
Corso) Some places just never change and this boisterous neighbourhood pizzeria is one of
them. A bastion of budget eating in an otherwise expensive area, it has a wood-fired oven,
two small rooms and gruff waiters who efficiently serve bruschettas, excellent Roman-

RISTORANTE
( 06 322 62 73; Piazza Augusto Imperatore 9; pizzas €7-10; Via del Corso) This warehouse-
style gastronomic complex, all exposed brickwork and industrial chic, is hugely popular
with local lunchers who flock here to sit on the sunny terrace and pile into the bountiful
midday buffet. It also serves Neapolitan-style pizzas and upmarket restaurant fare but
these receive mixed reports.
