A hostel in name only, this pearl of a place offers hotel-standard rooms
sleeping from two to four, each with its own en-suite bathroom and decorated in a tasteful
low-key style - think beamed ceilings, wooden floors, French windows, and black-and-

More boutique chic than backpack-
er crash pad, the Beehive is one of the best hostels in town. Run by a southern-Californian
couple, it's an oasis of style with original artworks on the walls, funky modular furniture
and a vegetarian cafe (prices don't include breakfast).
Beds are in a spotless, eight-person mixed dorm or in one of six private double rooms,
all with fans. Private rooms also have air-con (€10 per night). Book ahead.

Not only does owner Mary take huge pride in her small, spotless hotel but she will also
enthusiastically point out the cheapest places to eat, tell you where not to waste your time
and point you to what's good to do. Families should go for the large room named after
Piazza di Spagna; a cot is provided at no extra charge.
