shining most budget picks in town, this home-style B&B is a cracking find. Rooms are
cheery and immaculately kept, with above-par touches such as DVD players and bath-
robes, and breakfast is a good spread of all-Sardinian produce. Whether you want to bor-
row a bike or use the kitchen, just ask the friendly family that runs the place.

La Babbajola B&B

homey B&B is in a gorgeous old mansion, inside the centro storico, run by the friendly
Carla and her mother. Accommodation is in a mini-apartment or one of three big double
rooms, each of which features patterned old floor tiles, bold colours and tasteful furniture.
There's a kitchen and TV room for guest use. Two of the three double rooms share a bath-
room.

with its simple decor and long stone-and-brick arches, Gazebo Medievale rolls out fresh,
authentic, attractively presented Sardinian fare. Dishes such as trofie pasta with tuna and
pesto and couscous with seafood hit the mark every time.

Getting There & Away
Buses for Cagliari (€4.50, 1 to 1½ hours, two daily) arrive at and depart from Via XX
Settembre. Get tickets from Bar Giardini (Via Oristano 8) across the park. From the train sta-
tion on Via Garibaldi, a 15-minute walk from the town centre, there are up to 10 daily
trains to Cagliari (€3.85, one hour, 16 daily).
