From Pula, the SS195 follows the coast round to Chia and the stunning Costa del Sud.
But unless you're staying at one of the self-contained resort hotels that hog this stretch of
coast, you're unlikely to glimpse much sea.
Regular buses connect Pula and Cagliari (€3, 45 minutes). From Pula there are frequent
shuttle buses down to Nora (€1.20), 4km away.

Costa del Sud & Around
One of the most beautiful stretches of coast in southern Sardinia, the Costa del Sud runs
25km from Chia to Porto Teulada . Popular with windsurfers and kitesurfers, Chia's two
ravishing beaches are golden strips of sand divided by a Pisan watchtower, while 3km
away there's a magnificent strip of sand at Tueredda . As you wind your way towards the
high point of Capo Malfatano there are wonderful views around every corner.
Budget accommodation is available in two campgrounds at either end of the coastal run
- this is a fantastic area for camping. At Chia, there's Campeggio Torre Chia ( 070 923 00
54; www.campeggiotorrechia.it ; camping 2 people, car & tent €36) , a busy spot a few hundred
metres back from the beach, while 25km to the west, Portu Tramatzu Camping Comunale (
070 928 30 27; camping 2 people, car & tent €29) has modest facilities and an on-site diving
centre near Porto Teulada.
Some 20km inland, Le Grotte Is Zuddas ( www.grotteiszuddas.com ; Loc Is Zuddas, Santadi; adult/
reduced €10/7; 10am-noon & 3-5.30pm ) is a spectacular cave system, with 500m of cham-
bers taking you into a fantasy forest of stalagmites and stalactites.
