home-cooked seafood meals, accompanied by local vegetables, are served in a sun-filled
seafront pavilion at this unassuming but exceptional restaurant, run by the same family for
nearly four decades. Start with the house speciality, maccheroni with eggplant, pine nuts,
mozzarella and ricotta, before moving onto a second course of calamaretti (baby squid)
cooked with Salina's showpiece Malvasia wine.

At their home in the hills above Rinella, Carla Rando and Carmelo Princiotta serve unfor-
gettable meals featuring specialties such as homemade tagliatelle with pistachio and or-
anges, or fresh-caught fish grilled in a crust of parsley, basil, mint and citrus zest. Two
outdoor terraces framed by roses and cactus offer pretty views across the water to the sur-
rounding islands. Reservations required.

noon-11pm Easter-Oct) This stylish modern eatery with its cute lobster logo serves superb
food based on fresh local ingredients, with 80% of the produce originating in the prop-
erty's own garden. The downstairs bar is popular for aperitivi and late-night drinking. At
lunchtime there's a fixed-price three-course menu including a glass of wine for €25, and
takeaway gourmet sandwiches for €5.
