maps and brochures as well as the helpful booklet Un Ospite a Palermo
( www.unospiteapalermo.it ) , published bi-monthly and containing listings for museums,
cultural centres, tour guides and transport companies.
City information booth (Piazza Bellini; 8.30am-1pm & 3-7pm Mon-Sat) The most dependable of
Palermo's city-run information booths, next to the churches of San Cataldo and La Mar-
torana. Other booths around the city - at the port, the train station, Piazza Castelnuovo
and Piazza Marina - are only intermittently staffed and have unpredictable hours.

Getting There & Away
AIR
Falcone-Borsellino airport (PMO;
091 702 01 11; www.gesap.it ) is at Punta Raisi, 31km west of
Palermo.
Alitalia, easyJet, Ryanair and several other airlines operate between major European
cities and Palermo. Falcone-Borsellino is also the hub airport for regular domestic flights
to the islands of Pantelleria and Lampedusa.
BOAT
The ferry terminal is located just east of the corner of Via Francesco Crispi and Via
Emerico Amari.

from Palermo to Civitavecchia (from €73), Genoa (from €90), Naples (from €44) and
Tunis (from €72).

Palermo to Salerno (from €65).
Siremar ( 091 749 31 11; www.siremar.it ; Via Francesco Crispi 118) Ferries (€18.35, 2¼ hours)
and summer-only hydrofoils (€23.55, 1½ hours) from Palermo to Ustica.
