Set back from Sirolo's beaches and surrounded by cornfields, mead-
ows and olive groves, this converted farmhouse is a gorgeous country escape, taking in
the full sweep of the coast. Named after flowers like peony and rose, rooms have been de-
signed with the utmost attention to detail, with gleaming wood floors, exposed stone and
embroidered bedspreads.
There's an outdoor pool and jacuzzi for a relaxing bubble, and the owners are more
than happy to oblige whether you want to hire a bike or make use of the barbecue area.

the water's edge, the cool-blue Clandestino is a kind of gourmet beach bar, with a lovely
sea-facing terrace and a menu highly recommended by Italy's food critics. There's no
formality here: after a swim you can drop in for a taste of its Mediterranean sushi, tapas or
some fresh fish.
