Standard rooms on the lower floors are nowhere near as attractive as the superior and
deluxe versions upstairs, but they are considerably cheaper - check the website for deals.

) Located in a tree-lined boulevard opposite the Fortezza Medicea, this Liberty-style
villa has been converted into a 17-room hotel and is one of the city's best midrange
choices. Though the Campo is only a 15-minute walk away, the area is less touristy than
the historic centre and there is free (but highly contested) parking right outside the hotel.
Rooms are light and modern, with comfortable beds and small but perfectly adequate
bathrooms.

) Siena's most charming hotel has only six rooms, all of which are individually
decorated and luxuriously equipped. Breakfast is served in the sumptuously decorated
lounge or on the terrace, which has a sensational view of the duomo and Torre del Mangia.
