RELIGION
In 301 under Trdat the Armenia adopted Christianity as state religion and became the first
Christian kingdom. In 302 St. Grigor the Illuminator became the first Catholicos. Visitors
may find out a lot of things about the influence religion had on Armenians over centuries.
The majority of Armenians is Christian and belongs to the Armenian Apostolic church.
Beside the Apostolic church there are also other minor Christian groups, the Russian and
Greek Orthodox churches, Catholics and Protestants.
There are also Jewish and Greek minor communities in Armenia.
