4. Let's choose
DimPromotion
as the main table with the key column set to
PromotionKey
and the name column set to
EnglishPromotionName
as
shown in the following screenshot:
5. The following screen asks you to specify columns to be included as dimen-
sion attributes. You can specify attribute names, which do not have to match
the dimension table column names.
Note
The dimension wizard asked us to specify the
main
table; this is because
a dimension could be built upon multiple tables. For example, if you use
a Snowflake schema, each dimension could consist of multiple related
tables.
6. Choose descriptive attribute names that will be meaningful to cube users.
