Introduction
This chapter will help you understand how to optimize a data model for performance
and to utilize memory and other system resources effectively. The topic of perform-
ance tuning and troubleshooting is a little different than most of the other chapters
you've read so far. So troubleshooting isn't a purely prescriptive exercise where you
follow a set of steps with a predictable outcome. It is both an art and a science that
often requires investigation and an iterative approach to eliminate possible issues.
