How it works...
Analysis Services creates a temporary folder—the folder name is globally unique
identifier ( GUID )—for the database being restored and extracts all datafiles into this
folder. After all the files have been copied, the existing database folder is deleted,
and the temporary folder is renamed from GUID to the actual database name.
Keep in mind that if you're restoring an existing database it will continue to remain
online—available for queries—while the restore command is running. Therefore,
you will need sufficient disk space to hold both the existing and new copy of the data-
base until the restore command copies all files to the temporary data folder. So,
