In-Depth Information
journeys by train and boat ( Click here ) enchant
children of all ages. Upon arrival at point B,
dozens of segments of the perfectly signposted
hiking, biking, rollerblading and canoeing trails
are flagged as suitable for younger children.
These are designed strictly for non-motorised
traffic by Switzerland Mobility.
It's worth mentioning the travel itself: from
railways in every shape and size to lake boats to
cable cars and gondolas seemingly out of an ad-
venture flick, just getting around Switzerland is
a thrilling adventure.

Hotels
All types of accommodation will have family
rooms, and deals geared for families are com-
mon at larger places. Resorts will often have
childcare facilities or programs designed to al-
low parents to enjoy their own holiday within
the holiday.
Staying in a B&B is family fabulous: little kids can sweetly slumber upstairs while
weary parents wine and dine in peace downstairs. Pick a B&B on a farm or kip on straw
in the hay barn for adventurous kids.
Additionally, many hotels in resort areas have outdoor playgrounds and a new increas-
ingly popular trend is rooms geared for kids. Bright colours, games on the TV, every chan-
nel a child could hope for, pint-sized beds, rubber ducks in the tub and much more. Teens
will find night-time clubs in resort areas geared for under-16s, places where they can meet
others from around the world.

Restaurants & Food
Children are generally welcome in most restaurants. Some even offer smaller, kid-sized
menus and servings. Toddlers are usually fed straight from their parents' plates and if
high-chairs aren't available, staff will improvise.
