Winter resorts go to great trouble to provide family-friendly plans and activities.
Everything from lessons to special non-adult areas are near-universal and programs are
varied by ages, so the rebellious young teen need be nowhere near their seven-year-old
sibling. A trip to one of the best snowboarding destinations on the planet is rarely going to
disappoint.
In summer, adventure-sports companies often have programs just for kids and most
have programs designed for the entire family. You can go hike with goats, walk a St Bern-
ard, go on a GPS hiking treasure hunt, spot a marmot, swing like mad on ropes and much,
much more.

Switzerland has the toughest child car-seat rules in the world: children age 12 years or under 150cm
in height must use car seats or booster seats. Car hire/rental firms charge around Sfr50 for these.
