Getting There & Away
Frequent trains connect Lucerne to Interlaken West (Sfr56, two hours), Bern (Sfr36, one
hour), Lugano (Sfr56, 2½ hours), Geneva (Sfr74, three hours) and Zürich (Sfr23, one
hour).
For information on boat transport, see below. The departure points are the quays around
Bahnhofplatz and Europaplatz.
Getting Around
Should you be going further than the largely pedestrianised Old Town, city buses leave
from outside the Hauptbahnhof at Bahnhofplatz. Tickets cost Sfr2.20 for a short journey,
Sfr3 for one zone and Sfr4.20 for two. Ticket dispensers indicate the correct fare for each
destination. A zone 101 day ticket (Sfr6) covers the city centre and beyond; Swiss Pass
holders travel free. There's an underground car park at the train station.
