Grindelwald is outstanding hiking territory, veined with trails that command arresting
views to massive north faces, crevassed glaciers and snow-capped peaks. One of the most-
stunning day hikes is the 15km Kleine Scheidegg walk from Grindelwald to Wengen.

Sun in low season) In the tourist office, this outfit arranges mountain climbing, ski and
snowboard instruction, canyon jumping and glacier bungee jumping at the Gletscher-
schlucht.
Winter Activities
Stretching from Oberjoch at 2486m right down to the village, the region of First presents
a fine mix of cruisy red and challenging black ski runs. From Kleine Scheidegg or Männ-
lichen there are long, easy runs back to Grindelwald, with the Eiger demanding all the at-
tention.
