Schynige Platte
The must-do day trip from Interlaken is Schynige Platte, a 1967m plateau where the
Alpengarten
(admission free; 8.30am-6.30pm)
nurtures 600 types of Alpine blooms, includ-
ing snowbells, arnica, gentian and edelweiss. The biggest draw up here, however, is the
hiking. The
Panoramaweg
is an easy two-hour circuit. If you're here in July or August,
don't miss the
moonlight hikes
that follow the same route.
