It takes about 45 minutes to walk from Montreux to Chillon, or take trolley bus 1. CGN boats and steamers - a
wonderful way to arrive - call at Château de Chillon from Lausanne (adult return Sfr33, 1¾ hours), Vevey (adult re-
turn Sfr21.60, 50 minutes) and Montreux (adult return Sfr16, 15 minutes).

MONTREUX JAZZ
( www.montreuxjazz.com ) Montreux' best-known fest, established in 1967, lasts two weeks in
July. Free concerts take place daily, but tickets cost anything from Sfr75 to Sfr240 for
bigger-name gigs. Music is not just jazz; The Strokes, Sting, Arcade Fire, BB King, Paul
Simon and Deep Purple (with their big comeback gig in 2011) have all played here.
