MUSÉE OLYMPIQUE
(Olympic Museum; www.museum.olympic.org ; Quai d'Ouchy 1) Lausanne's Musée Olympique is
easily the city's most lavish, and a real must for sports buffs (and kids). Under renovation
until late 2013, its usual home is a gorgeous building atop a tiered landscaped garden in
the Parc Olympique. Inside, there is a fabulous rooftop restaurant with champion lake
views and a state-of-the-art museum recounting the Olympic story from its inception to
present-day through video, archival film and other multimedia. While renovation work is
carried out (from April 2012 until late 2013), a fraction of the museum collection can be
viewed in a belle époque CGN paddle steamer moored in front of the museum and park.
