Much of the Old Town is off limits to cars and street parking elsewhere can be hard to
snag; try public car parks Parking du Mont Blanc (Quai du Général-Guisan; per 25 min Sfr1) or
Parking Plaine de Plainpalais (Av du Mail; per 30 min Sfr1). Before leaving the car park, val-
idate your parking ticket in an orange TPG machine to get one hour's free travel for two
people on city buses, trams and boats.
Public Transport
Tickets for buses, trolley buses and trams run by TPG ( www.tpg.ch ) are sold at dispensers at
stops and through the TPG office (Place de la Gare; 7am-7pm Mon-Fri, to 6pm Sat) inside the
main train station. A one-hour ticket for multiple rides in the city costs Sfr3 and a ticket
valid for three stops in 30 minutes is Sfr2.
