Hovering right on the fringe of Pâquis near the waterfront, this quaint little cottage sits
plum in a park guarded by two stone lions and a mausoleum (Geneva's Brunswick Monu-
ment no less). On clear sunny days, views of Mont Blanc from its garden are swoon-
worthy, while lunching or lounging inside is akin to hanging out in your grandma's book-
lined living room. From 6pm the wine-bar menu with lots of tapas kicks in.

( 022 731 84 38; Rue de Zürich 5; mains Sfr15-20; 6pm-2am Mon, from 9am Tue-Fri, from 5pm Sat,
from 11am Sun) The Five Doors - with indeed five doors - is a fashionable Pâquis port of
call that successfully embraces the whole gamut of moods and moments - eating and
drinking. Its Sunday brunch is a particularly buzzing affair.
Vieille Ville
Eateries crowd Place du Bourg-de-Four, Geneva's oldest square, in the lovely Old Town.
Otherwise, head down the hill towards the river and Place du Molard, packed with tables
and chairs for much of the year.

( 022 736 32 32; www.ladresse.ch ; Rue du 31 Décembre 32; mains Sfr25-35; lunch & dinner Tue-
Sat) Something of an urban loft with a fabulous rooftop terrace, it is all hip at The Ad-
dress, a hybrid fashion/lifestyle boutique and contemporary bistro at home in renovated
artists' workshops. The Genevan address for lunch (great value Sfr18 lunch), brunch or
Saturday slunch, a cross between tea and dinner (ie a casual evening 'meal' of cold and
warm nibbles, both sweet and savoury, shared between friends over a drink or three
around 5pm).
